1. Introduction
Welcome to NarroWay. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring you have a positive experience using our application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the NarroWay mobile application and website.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you create an account, we may collect your email address and password (managed securely through Firebase Authentication).
Profile Information: We collect information you provide to create profiles within your account (e.g., names of children/students, their current "bucket" or tier).
App Usage Data: We track progress and completion of activities (e.g., Scripture Memory, Verse Matcher, Bible Lessons, daily quests, and streaks) to facilitate the "Practice vs. Mastery" system and provide progress reports to the parent/coach dashboard.
Device Information: We may collect basic device information necessary for the app to function properly and for troubleshooting (e.g., operating system version).
3. How We Use Your Information
- To Provide the Service: To operate the app, manage user accounts, and maintain individual profiles (e.g., tracking current verses and unlocked content).
- To Facilitate Discipleship: To enable the parent/coach dashboard features, allowing parents to verify mastery and award points.
- To Improve the App: To understand how users interact with the app and to improve its functionality and content.
4. Data Storage, Analytics, and Security
Data Storage
We use third-party services, specifically Google Firebase (Firestore and Authentication), to securely store and manage your data. We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information, but no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
Firebase Analytics (Google)
We use Google Firebase Analytics on our website (narroway.io), web app (app.narroway.io), and mobile apps (iOS and Android) to understand how NarroWay is used and to improve the product. Analytics may include:
Usage events: For example, which areas of the app you open (such as Path, Word, Field, or Way), when lessons or activities are completed, and similar product-interaction events.
Screen or section views: Which parts of the app you visit.
Sign-in events: That a sign-in occurred and the method used (for example, email/password), not your password.
A pseudonymous identifier: We may associate analytics with your Firebase account user ID to understand usage across sessions. We do not use analytics to store disciple profile names, verse answers, or payment card numbers.
Analytics is disabled in developer/debug builds. In production builds, collection follows your device and platform settings where applicable.
Legal basis / purpose: Legitimate interest in operating, securing, and improving NarroWay; where required, your consent via platform settings.
Processor: Google LLC (Firebase). Google’s privacy information: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Firebase terms: https://firebase.google.com/terms.
Note: We do not sell your personal information. We do not use Firebase Analytics for third-party advertising.
Firebase Crashlytics (Mobile apps only)
On iOS and Android, we use Google Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash report information when the app stops working unexpectedly. This helps us find and fix bugs. Crash reports may include:
Device and app information: Such as device model, operating system version, and app version.
Crash diagnostics: Error type, stack trace, and related technical logs.
A pseudonymous user identifier: Your Firebase account user ID may be attached to crash reports so we can investigate issues affecting your account.Crashlytics is not used on the web app. On web, severe errors may be logged as limited analytics events (error type and a short stack summary), not full Crashlytics reports.
5. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
We may share information with service providers (like Firebase) solely for the purpose of operating the app.
Information within an account is shared between the parent/coach profile and the student profiles under that same account to facilitate the verification and point system.
6. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
NarroWay requires a parent or guardian to create the primary account. All child profiles are created and managed under parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent.
